The American College of Academic Addiction Medicine (ACAAM) invites medical students, residents, and practicing physicians to its upcoming virtual Specialty Showcase on May 5 at 3 pm ET.
This hybrid advocacy experience brings policy impact closer to home. As part of AMAC, addiction treatment professionals will be able to engage directly with members of Congress and their staff during the August recess, right in their home state. Through a virtual skills training and state-based team coordination, attendees will gain the tools and confidence needed to advance a national policy agenda that supports addiction treatment professionals as they care for patients and save lives.

The Curbsiders Addiction Medicine Podcast is back for Season 5, supported by ACAAM, and the team wants to hear directly from clinicians. As part of the upcoming season, the Curbsiders will feature a Listener Q&A episode, inviting questions from the addiction medicine community. Selected submissions will be presented during the May 27 virtual Fellow Lightning Round Session, which highlights the voices of future leaders in addiction medicine while supporting professional growth through peer learning. This is your opportunity to deliver a dynamic 5-minute oral presentation on a topic of your choice and share your work with a national audience of addiction medicine fellows and faculty.

ACAAM Fellows, enhance your training in adolescent substance use care with a one-week Pediatric Addiction Medicine Rotation at Boston Children’s Hospital. Fellows will gain practical insight into treatment approaches that honor young patients’ growing independence while supporting their vulnerabilities during this critical stage of life.
This immersive program includes 16 hours of clinical telehealth in the Adolescent Substance Use and Addiction Program (ASAP) with a multidisciplinary team, virtual clinical rounds and clinical meetings, and access to valuable educational didactics during and after rotation.
January marks Substance Use Disorder Treatment Month, a time to raise awareness and encourage action for individuals, families, and practitioners impacted by substance use. This month is dedicated to supporting those contemplating or seeking help, empowering health care providers to adopt best practices, and reminding loved ones that recovery is possible. By promoting evidence-based treatment—including medications for substance use disorders—we can help eliminate stigma and open doors to healing.
